Spiked and twenty pagents later

Twenty pagents later by Caroline Cooney

This is a typical Caroline Cooney read. It is well written with no real surprises.
It is an ugly duckling story and someone who wants to become a princess.
A little too much fluff for me. I generally like this behind the scenes stuff but I enjoyed the next book more.

Spiked by Sandra Glover

I am not sure if I have read two or three of her books already so forgive me.
The subject matter upset me greatly because unfortunately, I can see this being a reality.
This is not a new topic but one that is coming to the forefront again.
There is an end of year party in a bar but in addition, to their friends, the general public goes travelling through the crowd.
One girl ends up with a spiked drink and when one of her friends realizes something is not right, she ends up dealing with another drunk friend.
All the girls' friends lose track of her while the predator steps in, at the key moment.
The story is very good on so many levels. A definite read.

****The Government of Ontario is now allowing women to take their drinks to the bathroom when they are in bars and clubs. This will help to make women safe.
