Hi, you guys! No volunteer time for comments.
Interesting survey information. The other day on the news, there was a study about teens and computer usage.
It said teens under 13 spent less than 2 hours a day on the computer.
I think 14 year olds spent average of 3.2 hours a day on the computer.
The next stat just flipped me out. 15 year olds spend over 8 hours a day on the computer.
When are you guys sleeping?
Even if you started as soon as you came home, you would do nothing else, no clubs, extracurriculars, eating, etc.
I think this study is exaggerated. What do you think?

8 hours a day is way too much
Suppose u finish school at 3:00, ud go to sleep at 11:00 if u didn't do anythin else. (no shower?)
Sum ppl might do 6, but average should be 4 at most (probably 3)
Y would u stay on the comp dat long anyways? Pointless.
ya i think its exxagerated.. i dont think thats how long theyre actually on the computer, though. a lot of people might have their computers on for the whole day, and sit in front of it while doing homework while signed in on msn. they probably counted that too. but thats kinda stupid. i mean, 3.2 is quite a lot already. i only go on about an hour a day. i dont even have time for 2. but high school studens -- 8 hours?? that cant be accurate.

hmm.. 8 hrs does seem a bit exaggerated, but it depends on where they are getting their statistics from.
I know a lot of people that come home from school, turn on their computer and log on to msn and have that running until they go to sleep. However, they aren't always sitting by the computer, they "come and go".
I also know of a lot of people that aren't good at managing their time, and are up late (really late... past midnight) completing their homework. So if those people keep their computer on from the time they get home to the time they go to sleep, it would definitely increase the statistics.
Thanks for your thoughts.
I thought 8 hours was way too much.
As you all said, if you do homework, shower, eat, etc. you would be up all night.
I would be interested in knowing how they counted the time as well.
i agree with you on the msn theory.
My other question is Why would there be such a jump between ages 14 and 15?
