Invasion of the Boy Snatchers
By: Lisi Harrison
Pages: 256

The story opens with some good news and bad news that is in store for Massie Block. The good news is that Claire Lyons is not moving away to Chicago. Ever since Claire had moved to Massie’s mansion, she had always given Claire a hard time. But over the course of spending a few months with her, Massie and the clique had finally come to accept Claire and had even allowed her to become a member of their very exclusive club. Now, Claire and Massie had become two very close friends. Since Claire is not moving to Chicago anymore, the family decided to renovate the guest house where they are planning to settle in. This is where the bad news comes in; Massie has to share her bedroom with Claire. But she’s not the only one inching into Massie’s territory. Alicia’s hot Spanish cousin Nina shows up and steals the spotlight away from Massie. Within days, Nina became the school’s trendsetter and boy expert. Every girl wants to be just like her and the Briarwood Boys get attracted to her just like bees to honey. What happens to Massie now? Will she just step back and let the Spanish hottie take over?...(probably not, especially when her crush is at risk from being swapped away by Nina).

This was just another typical chick-book. Everything you expected to find in a “clique” book was there – the girl talk, the clothes, the guys, etc. etc. What made this story even more typical was the fact that the whole entire situation revolves around a new “it” girl coming in and stealing all the attention away from the main character. It always happens sooner or later in any book or movie. And in this series, it just so happens to be this book the author chose to place the arrival of the “it” girl. This 4th book was simply not creative as the first three.

Hi, Stephie;

I read the title quickly and thought it was the Invasion of the Body Snatchers which is an old movie.
Cute title. I do find that sometimes the series start to drag. It sounds like this one does.
Hope your next read is a better one!
