Back to cheating

We have talked about academic cheating.
Do you ever cheat in real life?

I will give an example.

Say you are given too much change back.

Have you ever received the wrong thing at the drive through and not gone back?

i don't know if you count this as cheating in real life, but if i found money on the ground (like with no wallet or anything), then i would take it...(i know i'm bad, sorry to whoever's money i took). If i found some identification to go with the missing wallet, then i'll bring it to the security desk. I actually did that once!!! and the person phoned me back to say thanks!!!

Stephie,

Great example of being honest. I am glad the person took the time to call and thank you. This further sets the good example.

Years ago, when I worked in a different library, I was making minimum wage. One day, someone left $3000.00 in bonds in a book.
The couple were angry with each other and i was trying to help them find the book and the bonds.
after a lot of trouble, we did eventually find the book and the bonds which they carefully counted.
After a hasty thank you, they left.
I did not want a reward but rather I would have liked a more genuine thank you.
I have never forgotten that person.

p.S. Funny items we have found in books (shoulder pads, combs, tickets, bills, gum in wrappers as a book mark, mail which we have sent)

One day at Angus Glen, some little kid sent a plant down through the book drop. we don't know why.

One other thing:

At the end of the day, we all know right from wrong and basically, do the right thing but everyone slips.

The other day, I was in a hurry to get in the door at work. There was someone coming in from the parking lot and i should have stopped to hold the door but I did not. this is not the end of the world.

If it had been a mom with a baby or an elderly person, I would have stopped.
