A Room on Lorelei Street
By: Mary E. Pearson
266 pages
Zoe lives with her alcoholic mother who use Zoe's money for beer, food and taxes. Zoe decides to move to a room on Lorelei Street. School becomes a problem. She's suspended on her first day of school and some certain teachers hate her. The problems are just beginning...... I thought this book was O.K. because this book has a reference to a prostitute that I don't like.

Rachel,
This was one of those tough to read books.
I reviewed this one as a recommended read and again, it appeared on the blog.
This one did have mature issues.
Again, as a parent, I had a knot in my stomach to think how desperate Zoey became.
The ending appealled to me because she seemed to get her life together and there was hope.

ugh! i read this book, and i didn't like it all that much either. it looked okay by the pretty cover, but it was slow, and i didn't like the plot, although i picked it up not knowing what it was really about. well, thanks for the review. i feel your pain
